Films on Demand remote/off-campus access workaround

SYMPTOM: Attempting to access Films on Demand from off campus using the link on the A-Z Database page leads to a separate Infobase/Films on Demand login page

  • This is not supposed to happen
  • After AccessRio authentication, users should gain immediate access without any additional steps
  • AccessRio credentials will not work with Infobase/Films on Demand login

CAUSE: Currently unknown. Being investigated. (First became aware of issue 9/7/24.)

WORKAROUND/SOLUTION: Load/access Films on Demand twice using its access link on the A-Z Databases page

  1. Go to the RHC Library's A-Z Databases page: https://libguides.riohondo.edu/az/databases
  2. LOAD ONCE — Find the entry for "Films on Demand" and click on its access link: https://libguides.riohondo.edu/db/filmsondemand
  3. LOAD AGAIN — After the Films on Demand site/page loads but doesn't lead straight in, click on the Films on Demand access link/url once again: https://libguides.riohondo.edu/db/filmsondemand
